Career Assessment Tests:
- MyPlan.com: This site has many useful resources including a Majors Database with “What Can I do With a Major In?”. There are Career Databases and Self-Assessment Inventories.
- Career Info Net: On this site, you can obtain detailed information about specific jobs. Click on “Occupational Information,” go to “Occupational Profile” and type in a specific job title, i.e. “advertising sales agent”. Click on search, and choose a state. Learn about the particular career and salary information for the selected state and how it compares with the entire United States.
- Occupational Information Network: The Occupational Information Network – O*NET™ database replaced the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) as the nation’s primary source of occupational information. The O*NET database will help students make informed decisions about education, training, career choices, and work. The O*NET Project is administered and sponsored by the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration.
- Learn How to Become: What is a career? While many people use the words “job” and “career” interchangeably, the two have very different meanings. Throughout your life, you may hold various jobs, perhaps starting in high school or earlier. Typically, people pursue just one career. A career is a journey and something you will be committed to long-term. It consists of different steps, and ideally, it is something that you feel is your calling. If you are a student ready to begin your higher education, or have held many different jobs and want to know how to switch to doing what you love, this career guide will be a great resource.

- www.wowjobs.ca: WowJobs provides the largest job search in Canada. This mega search engine pulls from over 6000 job boards and allows you to navigate through 270,000 jobs and 1100 internships specifically in Canada.
- Security-jobs.net: Search engine for easily looking up what jobs are available in the area you’re curious about; focus is on security job work.

- ZipRecruiter College Jobs: Search through current student, entry-level, part-time and intern jobs.
- Career Salary & Cost of Living Calculator: This web site offers a free salary potential calculator and a cost-of-living calculator for over 7,200 U.S., Canadian and international cities.

- Glassdoor.com: Glassdoor offers salary details for employers, reviews of employers by employees, and interview questions and details – all posted anonymously by employees.
- College Recruiter.com: This site is also geared to students and recent graduates.
- The College Grad Job Hunter: Career web site for entry level job search for college students and recent grads. Provides information on resumes, networking, jobs, employers, interviewing.
- After College: You can search for jobs by type, location, industry, and company name.
- Simply Hired: You can search for jobs by title, keyword, category, and location.
- Career Builder: This site lists jobs that can be searched for by location, job description, salary, and keywords.
- hotjobs.com: You may search for jobs by keywords, location, or specific company. You may also post your resume on-line.
- metrochicagojobs.com: Listing of Chicago positions
- Juju.com: Search for jobs by title, keyword, category, and location.
- Voolkan.com: Thousands of listings nationwide.
- www.careerjet.com: Careerjet.com is a job search engine. In one simple search, Careerjet gives job seekers access to a huge selection of jobs that are sourced from various internet sites, saving the trouble of having to visit each site individually.

- MoneyGeek Cost of Living Calculator
- Salary Tax Calculator: With this new tax calculator you will see how much tax is deducted from your salary and what amount is taken for state and federal taxes, social security, medicare etc.
- Nurse.org: a directory of more than 3,000 hospitals, allowing nurses to see the inner workings of a hospital before they accept the job. Nurses review shift policies, management, nurse-to-patient ratio and more. They also offer a scholarship for healthcare students, the new application cycle starting in June.
